Unity data acquisition system deployment

We deployed our Unity data acquisition system, fully integrating it with the operational technology of the production machines. This included developing glue logic to enable seamless communication with D365, allowing work orders to be read and displayed directly on the operator machine HMIs. Completed work order data was then automatically sent back to D365.

In addition to capturing real-time production and engineering data, the Unity application provides a robust suite of engineering management services, enabling maintenance activities to be effectively managed. It also features a warehouse management system that alerts users when stock levels are depleted.

The project involved digitizing the customer’s QA process from a paper-based system to a fully digital solution. QA sheets are now displayed on operator HMIs and remain visible until checks are completed. A digital start-up procedure was also implemented to ensure correct setup. These enhancements have contributed to achieving ISO9001 certification, providing historic data to support quality assurance.

The project encompassed MySQL and Microsoft SQL development, HMI development, Node.js and JavaScript development, Ubuntu server setup and configuration, and network architecture design and installation. A total of 37 machines were integrated into the system, capturing over 3,626 data points, transforming the customer's processes into a highly efficient and fully digitalized workflow.
